Tamara was moved from ICU to a hospital room on Tuesday at 1:40 PM after only five days. At 8:00 pm Dorene had someone come in and give her acupuncture after which Tamara felt a lot better. At 10:00 pm Tamara walked down the hall and back with help. Tamara is alert and aware. She knows who people are. She can walk to her bathroom. She doesn't seem to be dragging her leg or buckling like she did last time. She is walking very, very slow.
Her vision is a problem. She sees double. With time, a week
or a couple of months, it should clear up.
She is only on Tylenol every four hours for pain and is
doing well on it. Yesterday she had a lot of good naps. She went one time seven
and a half hours without pain medication and another time six and a half hours.
The doctor came yesterday to see her. “You really had me scared,” he told her.
If she is okay she will be moved tomorrow to rehab on a different floor. This
hospital happens to have rehab in the hospital.
Tamara is very anxious to get out of the hospital. Dorene
told her, “You are better today than you were.” Tamara has been through a lot
but is doing so well. She is improving each day. She is still a very sick gal,
but Dorene is very pleased with her progress. “Those prayers really, really,
really were so vital. God answered our prayers. She has a long way to go but is
making progress. She is very, very needy,” Dorene said.
