David had to go back to work and Jonathan had to go back to work. They were taking shifts at the beginning. David’s sister left and his mother also left. Now Dorene is on duty all the time at the hospital around the clock. David put their son Isaac in a day camp. He goes from 8 to 4 until someone from church picks him up. Then David picks him up after work.
Tamara has had a hard day today. She cries and wants to get
better. Dorene tells her she is making progress. Dorene helps Tamara with her
bed, her shower, makes sure her food gets there, makes sure her buttons for
help are not on the floor, and little things that the nurses would never do. Dorene
needs our prayers as well. She has had a cough that she has not been able to shake
for many weeks. She wears a mask in Tamara's room and washes her hands
constantly.
Tamara got approved today for in-house rehab. The Lord used
David to help this miracle happen. The hospital was going to send her home. She
was not anywhere near able to do anything at home. Tomorrow she will move to
rehab where they teach them how to do math, write, take tests, and climb
stairs, and walk. They asked her how many words she could think of that start
with M in one minute. She could only think of mom, mommy, and mother, and
Morse code. “Tamara is making baby steps forward,” Dorene reported.
